Officially on hiatus
It being summer, and me being at home, I have no further need to communicate with my family over the internet. Therefore, this blog is officially on hiatus over the summer. When I return to school in the fall, expect things to pick up again. See you all then. Whoever you all are.
Back home
Well, I’m finally back home for the summer. It’s been hectic. I received a job offer from TDW Magpie in Salt Lake, but wound up turning them down. They were looking for a co-op, and I wanted an internship. I’d like to return to my job in the chemistry department when school starts up again. So, I had to miss one opportunity for what I think will continue to be a better one.
So I’m back home. Version 1.1 of StereoStream is slowly working its way through Apple’s internal machinery and should be released soon. I’ve started learning C# in anticipation of learning .NET and writing a Windows version of the StereoStream server. If only OS X could take over the world. Oh well.
Dad and I are working on the MARV. More details to come soon on the Gardenville website. Let’s just say that it’s making good progress and that we’ll be waiting soon for some sensors and other equipment. Very exciting.
It’s good to be back home, but it’s a bit of an adjustment. It was an adjustment to leave home, too. I’ll be adjusting again come this fall to living off-campus.
I’ve just re-arranged my course schedule a little. I’ve switched math sections so that I’ll be with a friend I met fall in calculus and I’ve dropped the New Testament class I was planning on and added a mission prep class. I’m not taking it with Randy Bott, the most famous BYU mission prep teacher, but I don’t think it’s an issue. There are other professors alive. Anyway, four out of five classes are technical: physics, linear algebra, “advanced programming concepts,” and “intro to theory.” (The last two are CS classes.) I’m very excited – lots of very diverse math. It’ll be a blast.
Anyway, I’ve got to get up for church tomorrow, so it’s about time I went to sleep. See you all later.
